Most Expensive Souvenirs at Each EPCOT Pavilion Disney World

I’ve spent many days of my life wandering around EPCOT, in and out of the pavilion gift shops. This time, I stumbled upon a $7,000 sword in the Chinese pavilion, and I had two thoughts. Number one, who buys this stuff? And number two, what is the most expensive item in each pavilion?

So, I set off around the World Showcase in search of the most expensive stuff I could find (and not buy). This list is not perfect because in busy pavilions, I didn’t want to interrupt cast members to make sure I found the right item, especially since I wasn’t buying. When I did ask cast members, they were excited to show off their wares.

I did see a few people buy some large, probably expensive items. Unfortunately, they had to carry them around the park for the rest of the night. The good news is that you can ship some items to your home. However, I’m finding conflicting data on whether every store in EPCOT can ship or not. Let me know your expertise in the comments.

Here’s what it looks like if you buy a huge painting and don’t ship it. I pitied them.

So, if you find something more expensive in one of the pavilions, please let me know in the comments! I’ll add it to the article (or you can send me a pic at seconddadtotheright @ gmail.com (spaces to avoid spam), or message me on Facebook/Instagram/Pinterest).

The prices vary wildly, some pavilions didn’t have any items over $200, and one pavilion had the grand prize that cost more than all my Disney vacations combined (I hope). Here we go. We’ll go from lowest to highest.

EPCOT Canada Pavilion: Most Expensive Item

Canada’s most expensive item (according to the cast members) was this Inniskillin Ice Wine at just over $80. It was the cheapest of the most expensive items in my tour. I wandered around the tiny trading post for a while before finally giving up and asking the cast member.

A bottle of ice wine on the counter at the Canada pavilion in Disney World. This Inniskillin Vidal Ice wine is the most expensive souvenir for sale in this EPCOT pavilion. It's thinner than a traditional bottle of wine, says something about Niagara

This bottle of ice wine is the most expensive thing Canada could come up with. They should have brought oil.

I don’t know if it was Canadian humility, or if they just missed the memo, but there’s nothing for wealthy tourists to buy in order to show their world-traveler status. Other countries made of ice (like Norway) at least sold expensive parkas (even England had one) for all the freezing, rich people in Central Florida.

I guess they just assume that if you want to spend money, it will be on La Cellier, the fancy steakhouse in the pavilion.

EPCOT Morocco Pavilion: Most Expensive Item

The most expensive item in the Morocco pavilion was a limited-edition Jasmine doll that goes for $130. The paucity of expensive items in Morocco wasn’t surprising because Morocco currently doesn’t have much of a gift shop.

A Disney Jasmine doll from the movie Aladdin. It's an expensive limited edition doll. She's wearing a purple outfit. It's the most expensive item at Morocco pavilion at EPCOT in Disney World.

A Jasmine doll Barbie would be jealous of. I don’t need it. I am Kenough.

Unlike all the other pavilions, Morocco lacks a walk-in souvenir store with hundreds of items. It only has an open-air booth with no doors on the opposite side of the sidewalk from the pavilion. After finding a $30 vase, I finally had to ask for help. The cast member apologetically showed me the doll and went back to making a wicker basket.

EPCOT Mexico Pavilion: Most Expensive Item

The prices start to creep up once you get to Mexico. The most expensive item in Mexico that I could find was this glass Viking ship that runs for $258 (and whatever is behind it, which I apparently didn’t notice). I’m assuming it was made by descendants of real Mexican Vikings.

A glass orystal viking ship on sale in the Mexico pavilion at EPCOT in Disney World. It's the most expensive item I could find in the Mexico pavilion. It's a sailing vessel with made of glass with the head of a dragon, with gold trim on sides.

I’ll confess that Mexico was hard to search through. I had kids with me, and it was really crowded, but I doubt any of the Coco merch ran higher than this. My rule of thumb is that if it’s in a glass case, it’s more expensive than stuff not in a glass case.

The Mexican Viking ship is slightly more expensive than the current most expensive tequila at La Cava de Tequila, which tops out at $240.

EPCOT Norway Pavilion: Most Expensive Item

The most expensive item in the Norway pavilion was a Helly Hansen down jacket for somewhere around $300 (my photo was blurry, sorry). Every time I exit the Frozen ride, I always wonder why they sell extremely expensive down jackets in Central Florida.

A blurry photo of a black down jacket. It has the typical horizontal ribbing of a down jacket. Made by Helly Hansen. Most expensive item in the Norway pavilion at EPCOT in Disney World.

Here it is. I took a bad picture because I was mad at how boring it was. Actually, I took a quick picture because so many other people were actually shopping for them, and I was in the way.

Then, I visited during January and the temperature got down to (gasp!) 50 degrees. I saw at least 10 people trying on jackets and taking them to the register. It was raining, and I assume they’re waterproof (how else are you going to climb the North Mountain?), but still.

EPCOT England Pavilion: Most Expensive Item

Things really start ramping up at the England pavilion. After looking at more down jackets, I came across the swords. You can buy King Arthur’s Excalibur for only $599. That’s a lot for a Disney souvenir but not very much for the most famous sword in history. I decided not to buy it because the last time I tried to bring a souvenir sword on a plane it didn’t end well.

Here’s one of two Excaliburs. I thought there was only one? I like the red one better than the black one (not pictured).

However, you can get Excalibur much more cheaply in Magic Kingdom if you pull it from the stone.

There was a bunch of designer stuff in England as well, so I checked with a cast member. I was still right about the sword, but the conversation ended with me covered in a free sample of $315 Penhaligan’s cologne “that made men more masculine.” Apparently, “wives don’t let their husbands out of the house with it on.”

Several ornate colognes with different metal animal heads on them. They are at the England pavilion in EPCOT at Disney World. Made by Penhaligon. They cost over $300 each.

Penhaligon Cologne. I still smell like the Mr. Sam one on the far right because I haven’t washed my hoodie.

I checked with my wife, and she didn’t seem too concerned. My hoodie still smells like it a week later, but so far it hasn’t had an impact on her or passing strangers.

EPCOT Italy Pavilion: Most Expensive Item

Italy’s most expensive item combined two different expensive brands: Gucci and Disney. It’s a leather Gucci purse with Mickey on it that can come home with you for $650. This is a great choice if you need something to keep your Mickey bar in to save for later.

A brown leather Gucci purse with a pattern of logos. It has tan leather straps. There is a large, full color picture of Mickey Mouse on the front. It's the most expensive item at the Italy pavilion in EPCOT at Disney World.

GuccixDisney is an expensive combination. They kept it behind glass to keep my greasy fingers off of it.

I’m pretty sure it’s Gucci. I couldn’t see the whole tag because it was behind glass. I had to Google the logo because I’m not expert in Italian handbaggery or hip-hoppery.

EPCOT France Pavilion: Most Expensive Item

We finally hit four digits in France. The most expensive item I could find was this collection of skin care items that you can buy as a set. They are the Guerlain Orchidée Impériale Black skin cream, serum, and lip and contour cream combined is $3,200.

An extremely fancy skin care set made with black orchids. Each item has a black metal case and fancy spoons to go with it. It's the most expensive item in the France pavilion of EPCOT at Disney World.

It’s made with the black orchid, which apparently is mostly witchcraft. Here’s the description from the website.

“The quintessence of the rare and exclusive luxury, Orchidée Impériale Black is the latest creation in the Orchidée Impériale Exceptional Complete Care range. After more than 15 years of research at the Orchidarium®, Guerlain experts reveal the extraordinary power of the Black Orchid, a true talisman against time, for preserved, regenerated and extended youthfulness.”

Seems expensive for skincare, especially since I just use whatever lotion my wife puts on the sink in the bathroom. However, it sounds like this has similar properties to the Fire Blossom in Tangled, and Mother Gothel kidnapped a baby for that product.

EPCOT China Pavilion: Most Expensive Item

I didn’t have to look hard to find some crazy stuff in China. This sword was in a glass case in the middle of the store in all of it’s gilded glory. This gold sword will run you $7,800.

Two swords in a glass case in the China pavilion of EPCOT at Disney World. The sword on the left is gold, and the right is silver. They are the most expensive items at the Chinese pavilion.

These can chop up your financial stability.

I don’t know if the blade was gold, too. If it is, you need to know that gold is not a good metal to use in a real fight. It will bend very easily.

If you can’t quite afford the gold one, you can purchase the silver version for a more reasonable $5800, which is a much better metal for defeating the Huns. Again, not great for planes or even wandering around EPCOT.

EPCOT Japan Pavilion: Most Expensive Item

The most expensive item I could find in the Japan pavilion was this necklace made of gray pearls called “gems of the moon.” It can grace the neck of your beloved for a cool $8,000.

A necklace with 30 or 40 gray pearls all slightly smaller than a marble. It's the most expensive item in the Japan pavilion in Disney World at EPCOT.

Yep, an expensive pearl necklace. Not that surprising.

Okay, this one makes sense. I found the necklace in a jewelry store. It’s made of a rare version of an already expensive gemstone. It’s pretty easy to find items over $8,000 dollars even at a mall jewelry store.

Speaking of pearls, you can look for one yourself inside an oyster for $20. It’s a fun experience.

EPCOT American Adventure Pavilion: Most Expensive Item

With all the exotic locales, who would have thought that the USA would have the second most expensive item? The most expensive item in the America pavilion is an original painting called The Slipper by John Nadeau. It will cost you $16,000.

A painting of Cinderella's slipper. It has an extremely detailed pattern, and sits on a cushioned pedestal in the foreground with a blue carpet and black and white checked hallway behind it, like a throne room. Most expensive item in America pavilion

Large, original artworks are expensive at Disney.

This one is a technicality because while Nadeau is American, I don’t know if the Art of Disney Store is somehow tied to the US as a country, or just a holding location until they finish all the construction in the other areas of EPCOT. If I can’t count the paintings, then the most expensive item is probably a camo Mickey shirt because Freedom Ain’t Free. ‘Murica.

EPCOT Germany Pavilion: Most Expensive Item

Finally, we come to the grand prize. Germany was a huge surprise. It took me four rooms to find the item. The first room was jam packed with people trying to get caramel popcorn, but I didn’t see anything nice. The second room was quieter, but I could only find some beer steins that topped out around $130.

I had high hopes for the third room because I thought there would be some expensive wine. I couldn’t ask because the line for the chocolate shots was out the door. I took a photo of some wine behind a glass case, intending to ask about the price later.

But then, I entered the door to the fourth room. And there it was, slowly rotating in the center of the room. Reflecting my technicolor dreams of exorbitant souvenirs, a Spaceship Earth replica (EPCOT ball), about 12” in diameter, sat shining in the light, and I could faintly hear a choir of angels vocalizing as I gazed in wonder.

A photo of a crystal epcot ball (spaceship earth) in a display case in the germany pavilion of epcot in Disney World. It costs $79,000 and is about the size of a small basketball. The most expensive item in all of epcot that i could find.

The most expensive EPCOT souvenir, at least that I could find.

The most expensive item in the Germany pavilion, in the World Showcase, and in all of EPCOT that I could find, was an Arribas brothers crystal EPCOT Spaceship Earth geodesic sphere that cost $79,000. I confess I didn’t check the rest of the store once I found this, so if there’s something better let me know. But given the display, it seems like this is the winner.

Honorable Mentions

There were a few other items that I should add to the list, but they didn’t meet the specifications of this article.

2024 Corvette Stingray Coupe

This is technically the highest price tag I could find at EPCOT. At $99,360, the Corvette handily defeats the crystal ball above. However, since this was on display at Test Track, it’s not part of the World Showcase.

Also, it’s not actually for sale. I asked the cast member, who also happened to be Jim from Hoop Dee Doo Revue a few nights before. So I got a selfie with him, too.

Jim/Stephen from Test Track/Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Alex from Second Dad to the Right, with an awesome hat.

Nath McCullough Paintings

While the most expensive painting in a pavilion was the Nadeau listed in the American Adventure pavilion, it was not the most expensive painting I found at EPCOT. I found these two Beauty and the Beast Beauties in a tent on the way to Canada. They run for $18,000 each.

Fun facts: Both paintings have several hidden Mickeys, and the artist has only been painting for 4 years.

Paintings called Dancin’ Time and Tea Time, respectively. There’s a third one of Lumiere in existence somewhere.

I didn’t include them in the list for several reasons. First, they weren’t in a pavilion, which was how I was organizing the list. Second, even though they were in World Showcase, they were temporary because it was the EPCOT Festival of the Arts. Finally, they weren’t the most expensive items.

Conclusion and Further Reading

There you have it, my exhaustive but not perfect list of the most expensive items at the World Showcase. I fully intend you to correct me and help me find even more ridiculous stuff, but I hope you enjoyed it.
