Great Disney Christmas Ornament Craft to Save Money
Christmas at Disney is magical, so magical, in fact, that they have special parties, decorations, and souvenirs for the holiday season. However, if you’ve ever been to Disney World and attempted to buy Disney decorations, you’ll know that they can be extremely expensive.
One particularly cost prohibitive Disney Christmas item is a Christmas tree ornament. These seem like a great souvenir to add some Disney magic to your tree, but $15-30 or more for an ornament makes it hard to decorate a tree with your favorite characters.
Disney Character Ornaments DIY
However, my wife and I have come up with a great way to make Disney ornaments for cheap. We purchase Disney figurines and add eyelet hooks to them, turning them into ornaments. You can buy a set of Disney princesses or Fab Five figurines for the price of one ornament.
Here’s some Mickey and friends figurines that are perfect.
Then you just twist the eyelet hook into the top, and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo, you have a set of ornaments for the price of one ornament.
Here’s an example.
If you find it hard to get the eyelet to bite into the ornament, you can pile a small hole with a drill. We’ve added a set of Disney princesses, Mickey, Minnie, and other characters to our tree for cheap. You can order figurines from the Disney store or Amazon (or find them at Target or Walmart). Then, you can get the eyelets online or at any craft store or hardware store.
Here’s a link to the eyelets (affilate link).
Finally, just add some decorative hooks or tie some ribbon around the eyelets, and they are perfect for hanging from the Christmas tree.
Here’s the finished product, but with an Animators’ collection figurine.

Christmas at Disney World is our favorite time, and we love bringing souvenirs home from the parks or ordering them online. However, given the prices of Disney ornaments, decorations, and too many Christmas sweaters, it helps to have a cheap way to make the magic happen. I hope that this helps bring some Disney into the Christmas spirit with you.
Make sure you check out the Christmas parties, and go see Santa and the Christmas trees at Disney Springs. But our favorite part might be the Christmas decorations in the Disney resorts. Make sure you check the lobbies at Grand Floridian and Wilderness Lodge especially.
